​Director of Sales (UK & EMEA) – News and lifestyle brand

Base salary of up to £130K - £180K + comms + benefits

Our client is an agenda-setting digital news and lifestyle publishing business with best-in-class digital advertising stack and has a highly lauded sales team.

We’re looking for world-class sales leader who can lead a team from the front. The ideal candidate will possess a senior agency black book of key trading and planning leaders. The ideal candidate will be charismatic, creative, and a well-connected Directors of Sales who is a are lateral thinker, great at influencing clients and agencies, engineering new business opportunities and driving new revenue to help drive our client’s business. The successful candidate will also possess serious internal and external gravitas and be able to report and forecast accurately to the Chief Commercial Officer and the board.


  • Take ownership of driving revenue growth from UK (and International) agency) patch and client marketing decision makers

  • Be proactive and work with agency planning and buying leadership in a manner that helps drive value

  • Open doors for the sales team by securing high-value RFPs

  • Consultative sell in terms of using data and research to build persuasive sales arguments

  • Cultivate excellent relationships with agency and client contacts to gain deep insight into their business and ultimately provide solutions for their marketing and advertising goals

  • Present and pitch suitable solutions from our clients extensive portfolio to match the client and advertiser’s marketing needs and business goals

  • Commercial acumen and solution driven in terms of driving revenue and creating products clients and agencies will buy

  • Entrepreneurial - spotting the gaps in the market and being able to service those client needs my being resourceful and flexible

  • Drive and coach the sales team, develop and recognise talent


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience selling online advertising

  • Existing black book of digital media agency contacts and / or clients particularly with the trading leadership at the big 6 holding groups

  • A deep knowledge of the digital display and programmatic landscape and the trends shaping the space

  • Proven management skills in terms of developing and nurturing teams to drive world-class sales performances

  • History of exceeding sales targets

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Must be a highly motivated team player.

  • Must be a consultative seller
