Our client provides fully integrated solutions and expertise covering the full spectrum of marketing communications including creative, digital production, research & insights, strategy & planning, social media management, data & technology, media planning & buying, digital & programmatic and influencer marketing.
As Group Business Director, you lead the strategy, planning and media investment process across key client business and major projects, by managing client business on a daily basis, being accountable for media output, being responsible for total management of your group’s accounts and managing staff and time.
Overseeing thinking, driving integration, ensuring presentation and ideas are in line with brand essence and objectives, quality assurance, accurate and best insights, productive work processes and reporting efficiencies (reduce client day to day work load).
Interrogation of media brief: identification of key objectives: competitive and media market review: ideas generation / brainstorming: substantiation of recommended media selection and strategy.
Analysis of media/consumer research: definition of target audiences: setting communication goals: calculating planning costs: establishing and managing budget splits.
Negotiation of client discounts, added value, preferred placement, sponsorships and editorial.
Develop thought leadership throughout the company to ensure HYLAND is a credible, insightful agency both within the agency and the industry.
Ensuring all administration of planning/buying paperwork, account queries, regular reports, media information, timesheets, filing, etc. are being carried out by the team.
People management and training
Staff management, task delegation, time management, training and motivation.
Maintenance of regular, appropriate, professional and amicable contact with clients: constant pursuit of better understanding of client business: constant pursuit of 100% excellent delivery against client expectations.
Maintain up to date awareness of media trends, audiences/readership, prices and opportunities: pursue new communications ideas/channels. Strong awareness of clients' business.
Regular review of clients’ competitive market for better understanding of their business.
ATTRIBUTES & ABILITIES
Previous media planning and buying experience – up to 10 years – across a broad range of clients, media, market analysis, budget deployment, management, negotiation, client relationship management, coordination of multiple activities. Offline media and TV planning is an important requirement.
Has proven experience working with partner agencies (content, creative) to drive holistic responses to briefs.
Demonstration of drive to achieve best results for clients.
Strong organisational, time management skills and attention to detail.
A keen team worker that is enthusiastic, possess a positive, can do attitude and keen to learn and want to join our collaborative and exciting agency family.
Advanced in Word, Excel, Power Point and all office technology.
Use and understanding of: Emma, Oztam – All eTam software, AC Nielsen data –eRAM, Adquest/Adex, BMD software – TV planning costs, report generation, TV Map & Media Wise, Roy Morgan Single Source – Tabulation, Media Analysis, Cluster Analysis, MMI, Product usage, Online – WARC and others as required.
Must be eligible to work in Australia.
