The Marketing Communications Manager for Japan is critical in delivering Marketing and Communication activities to increase the awareness and preference of my client’s brand among marketing leaders, agencies, publishers, partners and press.

Reporting to APAC Marketing Director, the role will work closely with other marketing and communications team members in the region and globally to seamlessly communicate product offerings in the region through tailored messaging. You will also be responsible for ensuring the global consistency of brand experiences while localising to your market. This is a core role to help educate the market and key influencers, and how my client’s technology is changing the way the advertising industry reaches consumers.

This person will help produce impactful marketing and communications plans for the Japan market, driving virtual, and when permitted, in-person events, implementing social media and content creation to drive awareness and demand for product offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and continue to develop comprehensive strategic integrated marketing and communication plans, and localise global strategies for the Japan market

  • Localise messaging that differentiates my client’s products with brands and agencies and play a central role from a storytelling standpoint

  • Collaborate with the global marketing and communication teams; maintaining an overall understanding of marketing and communication plans across the organisation.

  • Partner closely with Sales to develop and create content for audiences, including events, webinars, collateral, blog posts and social media posting

  • Maintain the trust and professional relationship with APAC Director of Communications and Content and effectively help with the localisation of global and local press releases where appropriate.

  • Liaise with local PR contacts

  • Manage marketing budget for all Japan activities in conjunction with the APAC Marketing Director.

  • Manage integrated marketing campaigns from end to end

  • Be accountable for measuring, evaluating, and reporting the Japan marketing results for all activity producing quarterly and annual reports.

  • Drive and manage online marketing and communications activities such as SEM and Paid Social

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and push to the next level in terms of branding and market education.

  • Manage content of owned media/platforms/tools such as the Website and Insider Blog.

You should have…

  • 5+ years relevant experience in B2B Marketing and Communications, with adtech/programmatic knowledge.

  • Experience in delivering integrated marketing and communications campaigns, including virtual and in-person event management, content creation and social media execution.

  • Proven experience in PR including the creation of localised press releases, agency management and press outreach.

  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with internal sales and customer success teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing comprehensive strategic marketing activities to advance an organization’s awareness and demand for services

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience in partnering with diverse and remote teams

  • High attention to detail and produces quality work in a timely manner

  • Excited to solve problems from start to finish: identify causes, recommend a solution, and implement

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a regional team.

  • An understanding of the tech startup and digital advertising industry

  • Experience hands-on with email marketing, webinar, website and social media systems e.g. Marketo, Sprout Social, Zoom, CMS

  • Possess excellent written, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills

  • Fluency in English and Japanese languages is a must.

  • Experience in translating product collateral from English to Japanese.
